Retinal haemorrhage
SYMPTOM
Retinal bleeding; Retinal hemorrhage; Retinal haemorrhages; Macular haemorrhage
Retinal hemorrhage (UK English: retinal haemorrhage) is a disorder of the eye in which bleeding occurs in the retina, the light sensitive tissue, located on the back wall of the eye. There are photoreceptor cells in the retina called rods and cones, which transduce light energy into nerve signals that can be processed by the brain to form visual images.
Pattern (casting)
  • The top and bottom halves of a sand casting mould showing the cavity prepared by patterns. Cores to accommodate holes can be seen in the bottom half of the mould, which is called the ''drag''. The top half of the mould is called the ''cope''.
FORM USED IN CASTING TO REPLICATE A SHAPE
Pattern (foundry); Pattern-maker; Patternmaker (engineering)
In casting, a pattern is a replica of the object to be cast, used to prepare the cavity into which molten material will be poured during the casting process.
Pattern (sewing)
  • Digital home sewing pattern
  • Marker-making by computer
  • Student tracing pattern onto fabric
  • Fitting a nettle/canvas-fabric on a [[dress form]]
  • Storage of patterns
  • Students cutting patterns in a sewing class
TEMPLATE FROM WHICH THE PARTS OF A GARMENT ARE TRACED ONTO FABRIC BEFORE BEING CUT OUT
Pattern making book; Pattern-making book; Patternmaking book; Sewing pattern; Dress pattern; Dress-maker's pattern; Pattern cutting; Pattern drafting; Pattern making
In sewing and fashion design, a pattern is the template from which the parts of a garment are traced onto woven or knitted fabrics before being cut out and assembled. Patterns are usually made of paper, and are sometimes made of sturdier materials like paperboard or cardboard if they need to be more robust to withstand repeated use.
Central retinal vein occlusion
HUMAN DISEASE
Retinal vein occlusion; Retinal vein thrombosis; CRVO
Central retinal vein occlusion, also CRVO, is when the central retinal vein becomes occluded, usually through thrombosis. The central retinal vein is the venous equivalent of the central retinal artery and both may become occluded.
Ocular ischemic syndrome
HUMAN DISEASE
Retinal artery occlusion; Central artery occulsion; Retinal vascular occlusion; Ocular artery obstruction; Retinal ischemia
Ocular ischemic syndrome is the constellation of ocular signs and symptoms secondary to severe, chronic arterial hypoperfusion to the eye. Amaurosis fugax is a form of acute vision loss caused by reduced blood flow to the eye; it may be a warning sign of an impending stroke, as both stroke and retinal artery occlusion can be caused by thromboembolism due to atherosclerosis elsewhere in the body (such as coronary artery disease and especially carotid atherosclerosis).
Virtual retinal display
DISPLAY TECHNOLOGY THAT DRAWS A RASTER DISPLAY DIRECTLY ONTO THE RETINA OF THE EYE
Scanned-beam display; Retina projection; Retinal scanning display; Scanned beam display; Scanned retina beam monocle; Retinal display; Virtual retinal displays; Retinal projection; Retinal projector
A virtual retinal display (VRD), also known as a retinal scan display (RSD) or retinal projector (RP), is a display technology that draws a raster display (like a television) directly onto the retina of the eye. The user sees what appears to be a conventional display floating in space in front of them.
Strategy pattern
DESIGN PATTERN ENABLING SELECTION OF ALGORITHMS AT RUNTIME
Strategy Pattern; Policy pattern; Strategy design pattern
In computer programming, the strategy pattern (also known as the policy pattern) is a behavioral software design pattern that enables selecting an algorithm at runtime. Instead of implementing a single algorithm directly, code receives run-time instructions as to which in a family of algorithms to use.

<artificial intelligence, data processing> A branch of artificial intelligence concerned with the classification or description of observations. Pattern recognition aims to classify data (patterns) based on either a priori knowledge or on statistical information extracted from the patterns. The patterns to be classified are usually groups of measurements or observations, defining points in an appropriate multidimensional space. A complete pattern recognition system consists of a sensor that gathers the observations to be classified or described; a feature extraction mechanism that computes numeric or symbolic information from the observations; and a classification or description scheme that does the actual job of classifying or describing observations, relying on the extracted features. The classification or description scheme is usually based on the availability of a set of patterns that have already been classified or described. This set of patterns is termed the training set and the resulting learning strategy is characterised as supervised. Learning can also be unsupervised, in the sense that the system is not given an a priori labelling of patterns, instead it establishes the classes itself based on the statistical regularities of the patterns. The classification or description scheme usually uses one of the following approaches: statistical (or {decision theoretic}), syntactic (or structural), or neural. Statistical pattern recognition is based on statistical characterisations of patterns, assuming that the patterns are generated by a probabilistic system. Structural pattern recognition is based on the structural interrelationships of features. Neural pattern recognition employs the neural computing paradigm that has emerged with neural networks. Central retinal artery
ARTERY LOCATED IN THE RETINA
Central Retinal Artery; Central artery of the retina; Retinal artery; Arteria centralis retinae; Central artery of retina; Arteria retinae centralis
The central retinal artery (retinal artery) branches off the ophthalmic artery, running inferior to the optic nerve within its dural sheath to the eyeball.

Pattern recognition is the automated recognition of patterns and regularities in data. It has applications in statistical data analysis, signal processing, image analysis, information retrieval, bioinformatics, data compression, computer graphics and machine learning.

Retinal correspondence

Retinal correspondence is the inherent relationship between paired retinal visual cells in the two eyes. Images from one object stimulate both cells, which transmit the information to the brain, permitting a single visual impression localized in the same direction in space.
